First part of the climb was straight forward up the same tarmac dam road which takes you to the base of Ben Vane. Once at the base of Ben Vorlich the climb is hard and sustained and reminiscent of Ben Vane. Not the highest hills in the Arrochar Alps, but still a hard climb.
The path is clear but narrow and on this occasion after some heavy rain the day before, was wet, boggy and slippy in places. I found the climb hard going and sustained. Some relief was gained once reaching the South Ridge, where the climb evened out a little and was less intense. The top of the mountain was thick with 'clag' and little could be seen of the summit or the surrounding mountains.
Care was required on the descent due to the slippy conditions, however, the weather was bright once out of the cloud, with some amazing views down over Loch Lomond.
A good, tiring climb, another Munro 'bagged'.
