Best Walking Routes in North York Moors National Park

The North York Moors National Park is one of England’s best walking and hiking destinations, with endless miles of wild moors and rugged coastline to explore.

There are hundreds of routes to choose from, including long-distance routes such as the popular Lyke Wake walk and the Cleveland Way National Trail. There are short and simple day walks too, exploring the clifftops, ancient woodlands and historic villages that make the North York Moors such a special place to visit.

The coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby are excellent bases for anyone walking in the National Park, and the pretty fishing villages of Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are packed with interesting shops, restaurants and pubs serving wonderful local food and drink.

The North York Moors isn’t just a famous for it’s walking trails, though. It’s also a great place for cycling, trail running, horse riding and watching wildlife.
