Walking Routes in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park gives walkers and hikers superb access to the legendary mountains of the Scottish Highlands, with impressive peaks and stunning lochside routes just a short distance from the busy city of Glasgow.

The National Park is a dream destination for hillwalkers, with routes for all ages and abilities up its many accessible mountains. There are 21 Munros in total (peaks over 3,000 feet), including popular mountains such as Ben More, Ben Lomond, Ben Vorlich and Ben Venue. Although not reaching Munro height, the smaller but equally iconic summits of The Cobbler and Ben A’an are both challenging walks that deliver magical views across the Southern Highlands.

If you like long-distance trails and backpacking, the West Highlands Way passes through the National Park on the banks of Loch Lomond, the largest inland stretch of water in Great Britain. With riverside, coastline, glens, hills, forests and diverse wildlife to discover, the endless trails of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park are some of the finest you’ll find in Britain.
