About user

I am in my early 60s and wish I'd started walking the Wales Coastal Path when I was in my 40s!! I set off in July 2015 with the aim of walking Pembrokeshire Coast and 'warmed up' with the Carmarthenshire Coastal Path. In a moment of madness I then decided to work my way back towards Chepstow as well.

All the walks (so far) have been achieved in one day by driving from home - in the upper Swansea Valley - to the end of the intended walk and then catching buses or trains to the start of my walk. Bus and train journeys are planned via the TravelCymru app which I find indispensable.

I never intended to load the routes on Viewranger but I find the app essential to follow the path and record the walks for posterity. I have one issue however with the accuracy of the track ascent which can vary by several hundred feet between that recorded in the Viewranger app and My Account in Viewranger. Viewranger support informed me that the app is the more accurate.

I will load more routes as and when I can and also see if I can conquer Flickr to load photos.
